To put it blatantly, I love anything related to pirates. So I was immediately drawn to the pirate isle for a few reasons. The outstanding 3D graphics, the fun theme, and other excellent features of this fun treasure, ocean, and ship-themed adventure. I've long fantasized about being a drunk pirate, sailing the seven seas with little responsibilities or personal ties to anything except a ship.
Format, Gameplay, and Use
This game has five reels with twenty-five pay lines. The reels are set on a well-animated pirate ship, with catchy pirate sound effects and music. The ship is 3D with excellent details involving this decaying ship. The jackpot is located at the top left corner, and everything else you'd need is located at the bottom of the screen. Change your bet using the button in the left corner, using arrows to increase or decrease your bet. The balance, slot bet, extra bet, and win section are clumped together beneath the board but provide the user with helpful information. The autoplay button is on the left side of the reel, with the spin and extra bet active button on the right side. "Extra Bet Active" will either turn an extra bet on or off.
The Wild Symbol
In this 3D slot, the skeleton key serves as the wild symbol. It substitutes for everything on the board, except the scatter. This is a grouped wild on reel 3, and when the skeleton key appears in a win, your win will be generously doubled. There are two scatters for this pirate ship, one a galleon ship, and the other is a treasure chest. Both are active to create scattered wins and are multiplied by the slot bet. If you trigger three keys, or more you'll activate the Treasure Key, which will come in various colors. The treasure keys remain active until the completion of the next free spins feature. During the treasure chest bonus, you will win up to 300 free spins (which is a large amount honestly compared to other slots) If you land 3 or more treasure chest symbols, you'll activate this. You'll be presented a treasure map, and need to choose five locations on the map to reveal another map, a treasure chest, or a ghost. (Yes, this game involves haunted pirate ships)
This fabulous treasure awards a prize and another pick. If the treasure chest is identical to the active treasure key color (remember I mentioned multiple colors) the prize will be tripled. If you find a treasure map, you are awarded a prize and will trigger a new round of picks. You can win up to 5 rounds. If you find a ghost, the feature will end and you'll be awarded 100 spins. If the keys are active, the number of spins is tripled, which is an insane amount in my humble opinion. The skeleton key will appear only on reels 2,3, and 4. Three or more treasures add 15 free spins.
The Extra Bet
Remember, the extra bet button is a pretty unique feature I haven't seen in many other slot games. The extra bet broadside feature is triggered when you hit three or more Galleons on the reels while "Extra Bet" is on. You can exchange broadsides with the enemy galleon, with a win moving you up the prize ladder. You must defeat all the enemies by winning five times. defeating the Spanish ships will move you up the ladder faster, reaching the top of the ladder awards you the jackpot. Another unique feature is this progressive jackpot is won this way!
